My Approach
As an integrative nutrition health coach, Tessa takes a personalized, holistic approach to cognitive health and mental well-being that extends far beyond traditional health markers. She works with clients across eight interconnected pillars of health, with a foundational focus on nutrition, physical activity, mental wellness, and sleep—the cornerstones that support all other aspects of wellbeing.
Tessa understands that lifestyle changes can feel overwhelming when approached as sweeping overhauls. Instead, she begins by truly understanding each person's unique circumstances, challenges, and priorities. Together, you'll identify which pillars need attention and create manageable "mini-goals" that build momentum toward your larger aspirations.
Her collaborative approach ensures your plan is not only actionable but also aligned with your values and realistic for your current life. By breaking down big-picture goals into achievable steps, Tessa helps you build confidence and create sustainable habits that support lasting transformation—one intentional choice at a time.
My Story / My “Why”
I cherished my childhood and early adult years for countless reasons, yet depression, anxiety, and persistent physical symptoms were constant companions throughout. While medications and therapy offered relief, I knew something deeper was at play—a biological piece of the puzzle that traditional approaches weren't reaching.
Despite being an athlete through high school and college, and spending my twenties training for marathons, I struggled with chronic fungal overgrowth that manifested as recurrent yeast infections, skin rashes, and debilitating gut issues. I spent years feeling uncomfortable, embarrassed, and helpless. By my late twenties, I'd reached a breaking point—doubled over in pain after most dinners, desperate for answers that no one seemed able to provide.
Then came the diagnosis that changed everything: my mother, at just 62, had early-onset Alzheimer's. Watching her gradual decline over nearly a decade became the most painful yet profoundly formative experience of my life. Grief initially felt paralyzing, but it eventually sparked something within me. Between losing my mother and becoming one myself, I made a decision: I would take control of my health and find the answers I'd been seeking.
After a decade of trial and error with various diets, supplements, and quick fixes, I finally sought out a health coach who helped me address the root causes of my interconnected symptoms. Together, we overhauled not just my diet, but my entire lifestyle and mindset. Within months, I began to feel like a new person. The chronic anxiety and depression that had shadowed me for decades began to lift. My physical ailments slowly disappeared.
The transformation wasn't instantaneous or linear, but my "why"—my children and my fierce desire to be present for them—kept me going. Over time, nourishing my body with quality foods, prioritizing rest, and maintaining consistent movement became second nature rather than restriction. What once felt overwhelming now feels like balance.
Most importantly, I began showing up as my best self—for my children, my husband, my friends, and my family. I owe it to my kids (and someday, my grandkids) to be active, healthy, and fully present in their lives.
Today, my mission is to help others experience this same transformation. I'm passionate about helping people peel back the layers, identify what's truly impacting their health, and reclaim their vitality so they can live as their most vibrant, authentic selves.
